It is still under construction outside, but you don't notice that at all inside. You can definitely pack food and leave it in your room to save some money. Filet was cooked to perfection and was obviously high quality. The cheese curds were insanely good, and the mushroom flatbread was awesome. We were impressed and with the prices of all the more casual eateries it makes sense to just spend a few extra bucks and get an excellent meal. Not just good, like i expect a waterpark upscale restaurant to just not be terrible - but good for any property. By 3:00 everyone was starving so we changed and headed to the restaurant, - there is a few, but we decided on the upscale restaurant. We had a couple drinks at one of 2 bars in the park. We spend the day riding all sorts of great waterslides (the lazy river is eh) but everything else is perfect and sizes for all ages. We arrived at noon and our room was ready early, but you can change at the water park if your room is not ready. The arcade is stocked with tons games for every age including adults. It was on first floor which was awesome bc the amazing arcade and entrance to indoor water park is on 1st floor so the commute was simple. The room was clean and comfortable and more than enough space for all of us with a separate king bedroom with own bathroom and a second room with 2 doubles and a pullout and second bathroom. We were 4 adults and 3 children (2 and 4 y/o). We stayed mid November in the 2-room family suite. I'll be sure to tell coworkers who are fans of the neighboring water park about this place! There were lifeguards at every station and we loved that there was such a variety in slides for every age, but parents could enjoy with their children too! Same with the indoor/outdoor hot tub! My personal favorite. We stay at Disney World yearly and this resort was up to par with quality standards. We brought microwave popcorn to munch on. I really liked the wet bar area in the room which gave more counter space and the fridge/microwave was a great feature. The arcade was huge! I have to say that the decor was beautiful in the lobby and we enjoyed the spacious room (two queens and a sleep sofa). We ate at the Ivory Coast and the Java station. There were no crowds (maybe because it's a weekday off season time), the staff was friendly, and the food was reasonably priced and good.
We were there from Monday until Tuesday evening and wished we stayed longer. My two kids (ages 11 and 8) loved everything about this resort and didn't want to leave. We just returned from a fantastic visit at the new Kalahari resort in the Poconos.
